Apple’s New wireless HomePod smart speaker is finally starting pre-orders and you can get it by February 9 for US$349. You can go with pre-orders starting Today in the US, UK, and Australia or wait till the release date on Feb 9th. The HomePod is expected to deliver an enhanced Siri experience, spatial awareness, and a wide soundstage.

Apple HomePod Pre-order Starts on Jan 26 To Ship & Arriving Feb 9th

The new Apple HomePod will be available in stores on February 9,, while pre-orders starting on today, January 26 in the US, UK, and Australia. France and Germany will get the HomePod this spring according to an Apple press release. Apple will be entering a very competitive market along with tech giants being the main rivals, Amazon Echo, Google Home, the Cortana-powered Harman Kardon Invoke, and the Alexa-powered Sonos One.

Statistics say now one-in-six Americans owns a smart speaker now in 2018. Apple first unveiled it in June, the HomePod was already late to make an appearance with the Alexa-powered Amazon Echo hitting the market in late 2014.

HomePod is slated to get an update later this year that will enable multi-room audio and stereo. This will enable the HomePod to play different music in different rooms or can be synced with another HomePod for a more immersive listening experience. The HomePod comes in white and space gray variants and works with all iOS devices running iOS 11.2.5 and above. At a launch price of US$349, the HomePod isn’t exactly cheap. For perspective, Amazon Echo and Google Home have smart speakers in the US$50-US$199 range, with products from other OEMs such as the Amazon Alexa-powered Sonos One going up till US$400.
