Fortnite passes PUBG’s peak concurrent players

Fortnite has bypassed PUBG

When Fortnite was released Bluehole didn’t like it very much because of how similar it was to PUBG. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is the most popular game on Steam right now. The peak amount of concurrent players on Steam is 3,236,027. Dota 2 has the second most peak concurrent player with 779k and CS:Go is at the third spot with a peak of 715,850.

In a blog post, Epic Games announced that Fortnite has reached a peak of 3.4 million concurrent players. Epic Game wrote, “Fortnite hit a new peak of 3.4 million concurrent players last Sunday… and that didn’t come without issues! This blog post aims to share technical details about the challenges of rapidly scaling a game and its online services far beyond our wildest growth expectations.” Epic Games also explained the reason for all of the problems with the Fortnite servers on Saturday and Sunday. Epic Games also revealed that they are going to release a new update that will try to fix many of the issues that caused all of the problems in Saturday and Sunday.

It made sense for Fortnite to reach this big number. Fortnite is a free to play game and right now on the PS 4 it’s the only big battle royal game and it’s one of the best and free battle royal games in the Xbox One and PC. On Xbox One PUBG looks very bad. On the base Xbox One console PUBG is running at very low to low PC presets at 1080p 30FPS. The very low and low preset on the PC doesn’t look very good. On the Xbox One X PUBG looks a lot like PCs medium settings but somethings are lower and it runs at 4k 30 FPS. Compared to Fortnite PUBG on the Xbox One just can’t hold up. PUBG has a lot of glitches and it looks bad on the Xbox One but Fortnite looks better and it doesn’t have as many glitches and it’s not as laggy. Fortnite is also a free to play so many gamers on the Xbox One didn’t buy PUBG instead played Fortnite.
