Intel Core I9 CPU vs AMD Ryzen Threadripper CPU, Benchmark and Price

The fight over the Highest end of CPU market | Intel Core I9 CPU vs AMD Ryzen Threadripper CPU 1950X

AMD Threadripper right now has offered three Threadrippers: The AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X for $999, A 16 cores, 32 threads; 3.4GHz base clock, 4GHz boosted clock and Ryzen Threadripper 1920X for $799, 12 cores, 24 threads; 3.5GHz base clock, 4GHz boosted clock and Ryzen Threadripper 1900X  for $549, 8 cores, 16 threads; 3.8GHz base clock, 4GHz boosted clock all released on August 10th 2017. And about the Intel’s Core i9 chips, Intel recently revealed the I9 series as follow, The Core i9-7980XE for $1,999 : 18 cores, 36 threads; 2.6GHz base clock, 4 GHz-4.4-GHz boosted clock and Core i9-7960X for $1,699 : 16 cores, 32 threads; 2.8GHz base clock, 4.2GHz-4.4GHz boosted clock, Core i9-7940X ($1,399): 14 cores, 28 threads; 3.1GHz base clock, 4.3GHz-4.4GHz boosted clock, Core i9-7920X for $1,199 : 12 cores, 24 threads; 2.9GHz base clock, 4.3GHz-4.4GHz boosted clock and some lower models like Core i9-7900X for $999 and all came in last month so they are still the hot ones in the market and just cam out August  and Sept 2017.

The Intel Core i9 consumes less power than Amd Ryzen Threadripper, the highest-end i9-7980XE, i9-7960X, and i9-7940X consume 165W vs Core i9-7920X and i9-7900X consume 140W. This is while the Amd Ryzen treadripper 1950X has about 180W of power consumption. But if you consider the price as well our focus is on the flagships the AMD the 1950X costing $1000 VS Core i9-7900X Also costing $1000. So you know with the same money what kind of performance you will actually get. Based on the recent benchmark from Paul’s hardware The Treadripper 1950X actually beats Intel 7900X. And it is not even a close competition, it has about 20% more speed in CINEBENCH 15 and 10% ahead in CPUMARK Scores.

The test you have published is pretty nonobjective, almost ridiculous, comparing the processor with ten cores with the one that has 16. You would have a fully different perspective if the test included an Intel CPU with 16 core i9 7960x, or 18 cores 1980xe, then the AMD Threadripper would actually be ripped.

The lanes in the table for AMD are way off.

They should read 60 lanes and 20 lanes for TR/ryzen.
