Next-Gen AMD Ryzen 2 and AMD Navi Coming Summer 2019? (Rumors)

AMD Navi and Zen 2 Rumored Release Date

CES 2019 has come and past but, AMD didn’t give us a lot of information about their next-gen 7nm AMD Zen 2 CPUs and Navi GPUs. We got some information about Zen 2 but, AMD didn’t even mention Navi. Credable rumors were hyping up AMD Zen 2 claiming that it is going to be able to blow away the competition. Although we didn’t get a lot of info, we know some information about AMD Zen 2 and Navi that suggest they are going to be released sometime in summer 2019.

AMD Navi Spotted in MacOs

The MacOs Mojave update featured a file named “AMDRadeon6000HWServiceskext” which lists four variants of AMD Navi GPUs Navi 16, Navi 12, Navi 10 and Navi 9. The number after Navi probably describes the number of  Compute Units enabled on each GPU. The fact that AMD Navi is mentioned in MacOs shows that its probably going to be released much sooner than expected. This leak further proves the credibility of past rumors of past rumors claiming AMD Navi is going to be released sometime around July. 

AMD Zen 2 Coming Summer 2019?

Thanks to AMD themselves, we have known for a while now that AMD’s next-generation of CPUs are going to be released in 2019 but, we didn’t have a specific release date. Although we still don’t have a specific release date, the latest rumors claim that AMD Zen 2 is going to be released sometime around summer 2019. Although we didn’t get any info about Zen 2, AMD did reveal Cinebench R15 scores for a Zen 2 CPU with 8 cores and 16 threads. Since AMD showed off Zen 2’s performance at CES 2019 we can assume that they are pretty much done. Past rumors have claimed that Zen 2 is going to be released in summer 2019 and the benchmarks further prove the credibility of this rumor.
