Over 7 million people have played Fortnite

According to Fortnite Tweeter, they have reached 7 million players

Fortnite has been very successful, even though the battle with Battlegrounds. The player count is not near Battlegrounds, but it is very good. Fortnite Tweeted, “Thanks to over 7 million of you who have played Fortnite! We want to keep the Battle Bus flying, so Duos and Supply Drops are available NOW.”

Duos and supply drops are available now. A few days ago Fortnite announced they reached 1 million players in the first day.Fortnite is available on consoles too unlike PUBG, and many people predict it will eat into PUBG’s profit on the consoles especially in the PS 4, and Bluehole is talking to Microsoft about extending the Xbox exclusivity deal. That came after Bluehole talking about PUBG going to the PS 4. 

Many other companies have been making mini-games or games like PUBG, for example, In GTA Online’s new game mode you jump out of a plane, pick up guns and kill the people in the other team just like PUBG. Many people think Bluehole is doing this because of business politics. There were rumors that mega Chinese company Tencent is going to invest in Bluehole, but they partially own Epic games so if Fortnite becomes very successful Tencent might not invest in Bluehole.

Fortnite hasn’t been as successful as PUBG, but it is free, so many people will play the game. Maybe, even more, people then PUBG. PUBG is so successful that the team has become a company. The new company will be called PUBG Corp, and it will “accelerate overall business development and managing global operations” for PUBG. 

PUBG Corp’s chief executive officer is Chang Han Kim (PUBG’s executive producer). Chang Han Kim told the press, “Given Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds global success, we want to ensure that we have the operational efficiency that is required to support the game globally. This new structure allows us to be nimble as we look towards the expansion of strategic business opportunities that include the game’s potential in the esports sector and the growth of PUBG as a true global IP franchise.” PUBG corp’s headquarters will be in South Korea and their second office will be in Madison Wisconson, they have plans for an office in Japan and Europe.
