Rumor: AMD to Capture Gaming Laptop Market Intel Thanks to 7nm Architecture

AMD’s 7nm GPU and CPU Series Are Going to Come Out in 2019

AMD has already announced that they are going to release 7nm GPUs and CPUs sometime in 2019. AMD’s next-gen CPUs and GPUs are very exciting news to gamers as they are the worlds first ever 7nm architecture. Intel is going to release their 10nm CPUs soon and according to recent rumors, they are having a lot of issues with it.

AMD 7nm CPUs and GPUs Coming in 2019

AMD has said that they are going to announce their 7nm CPUs and GPUs very soon in a keynote address at the upcoming CES 2019.

“In 2019, AMD will catapult computing, gaming, and visualization technologies forward with the world’s first 7nm high-performance CPUs and GPUs, providing the power required to reach technology’s next horizon. During her CES keynote, Dr. Su and guests will provide a view into the diverse applications for new computing technologies ranging from solving some of the world’s toughest challenges to the future of gaming, entertainment and virtual reality with the potential to redefine modern life.”

Thanks to Ryzen 2 and AMD Navi’s 7nm architecture, they have a big lead over the competition in the mobile gaming market. See, since they have a 7nm architecture, they are more power efficient than current hardware available in the market. This will be better for battery life and they can be fit in a smaller chassis as they wouldn’t produce so much heat.

Intel Struggling to Release 10nm CPU

Recently rumors started flying around the internet claiming that Intel is going to cancel their 10nm CPUs because of production issues and high prices. Intel quickly responded to the rumors on Tweeter saying “Media reports published today that Intel is ending work on the 10nm process are untrue. We are making good progress on 10nm. Yields are improving consistent with the timeline we shared during our last earnings report.”

Although they probably aren’t going to cancel their 10nm CPUs, this is still bad news for Intel. This means the Intel is having production issues which means they will either have to delay it or when it is released, it will be really hard to find it. Supply issues can drive manufactures to AMD making Intel lose on a lot of sales.
