Rumors Suggest GTX 1180/GTX 2080 to Be Announced This August But are They Actually Real?

Is the GTx 1180/GTX 2080 Going to be Announced this August?

The Nvidia GTX 1180 is one of the most hyped up GPU series of all time. According to many rumors from different sources, the Nvidia GTX 1180 is going to be revelutionary for the gaming market as it is going to feature specs similair to one of the most powerful GPUs of all time the Nvidia Titan XP. Everyone wants to know exactly when Nvidia is going to announce the GTX 11 series graphics cards but Nvidia doesn’t want us to know the release date so we have to listen to rumors.

According to some credible rumors, Nvidia is going to announce their next-gen GPUs at Gamescom 2018 this August. In a video, a Lenovo product manager accidentally leaked that their future PCs are going to be upgraded with GTX 11 series GPUs and they are going to be coming out this Fall. The Product Manager said, “Along with up to GTX 1060 at this time but time to market with Nvidia 11 series up to a GTX 1180 at the end of the road.” That’s not all of the rumors another website reported that Nvidia is sending out invites to GamesCom 2018 and they are going to announce new hardware at GamesCom. The Lenovo leak seems pretty legit but it could be an accident. Although we don’t have an official confirmation, we could assume that the GTX 1180 is going to be announced this Summer.

Nvidia has released all of their recent GPUs in or sometime around Summer. The GTX 1080 and 1070 were released on May 27, the GTX 1060 came out in July, the GTX 980 came out in September, and the GTX 980 Ti came out in June. As you can see all of these GPUs were released sometime around Summer so we can expect the GTX 11 series GPUs to come out sometime this Summer as well. Perhaps in September.

According to rumors the GTX 1180 is going to feature 3584 Cuda Cores, 16GB of VRAM, 1600MHz core clock, 1800MHz boost clock, 13 TFLOPS, 16 Gbps Memory Speed, and a TDP of 170 to 200 watts. With these specs, the GTX 1180 is expected to be able to do 4k ultra 60 FPS gaming and it will cost less somewhere around $700. 4K gaming will not be a luxury in the PC gaming community anymore as you wouldn’t have to spend $1200 on the GPU alone.
