Even if you can’t afford it you should still wait as the Nvidia 1000 series GPUs will get a big price drop. Or even AMD gpus may experience a drop in their prices. With the GTX 1180, you will be able to play your games at 4k, 60 FPS, Ultra Settings for only $700. So yes, you should wait unless you really need to get a new GPU right now. It would be kind of foolish to purchase something like a GTX 1080 TI as the GTX 11 series GPUs are going to come out very soon.
