Samsung is reported to be making a new Chrome OS tablet with codename ‘Nautilus.’ The device will be the first for samsung in this category of Chromebook Plus and the Chromebook Pro.

Samsung is now getting a detachable 2-in-1 tablet running Google’s Chrome OS ready for markets. The chromebook’s codenamed is ‘Nautilus,’ the device has been seen in Chromium Repositories code references. It is thought to be similar to Windows 10-based Galaxy Book 12, but rumors say it may not set to pack a Super AMOLED display. It will, benefit from an unspecified Intel processor and the same Sony IMX258 image sensor used in the LG G6, suggesting that it will be targeted for highest end of Chrome OS device market.
Samsung already is offering the Chromebook Plus and Chromebook Pro and both devices are getting positive reviews for their high-quality LCD panels and other features. The ‘Nautilus’ like the Chomebook Plus and Pro models is opting for Intel’s x86-based silicon. Chrome OS could actually open a way forward for Google and its improvements in Google’s thin-client OS. Now the new ability to run Android apps in chrome, along with improvements in performance in tablet-mode, Chrome OS looks to have potential in its battle with Microsoft and Apple for the education market.
