AMD 7nm Zen 2 CPU Coming Out in 2019, Intel Struggling With Next-Gen 10nm CPU
Zen 2 is Coming Out Next Year

Right now AMD’s CPUs aren’t doing very well in the gaming scene. Although AMD’s Ryzen 7 CPUs feature 8 Cores on a really low price, they don’t perform very well when compared to Intel CPUs at the same price point. Intel does a lot better then AMD in games but in productivity benchmarks, AMD performs a lot better. Intel has higher single-core performance than AMD so they do better at gaming. AMD’s next-gen 7nm CPU series are coming out in 2019 while Intel is having problems with 10nm CPUs.
7nm Zen 2 CPU Series Coming Out in 2019
Thanks to AMD themselves we know that Zen 2 is going to be released next year. Thanks to AMD’s roadmap we know that next-gen 7nm AMD CPUs are coming out in 2019. We also know that it is going to be announced by AMD’s CEO Dr. Lisa Su at CES 2019.
“In 2019, AMD will catapult computing, gaming, and visualization technologies forward with the world’s first 7nm high-performance CPUs and GPUs, providing the power required to reach technology’s next horizon. During her CES keynote, Dr. Su and guests will provide a view into the diverse applications for new computing technologies ranging from solving some of the world’s toughest challenges to the future of gaming, entertainment and virtual reality with the potential to redefine modern life.”
AMD’s CEO and president is going to deliver a keynote at CES 2019 on Wednesday, January 9 at 9:00 AM in the Venetian Palazzo Ballroom.
Intel is Having Issues With 10nm CPU Series
A while ago rumors started spreading around the internet claiming that Intel has given up on their 10nm CPU series because of production issues. Intel quickly responded to these rumors saying, ” Media reports published today that Intel is ending work on the 10nm process are untrue. We are making good progress on 10nm. Yields are improving consistent with the timeline we shared during our last earnings report.” Although Intel 10nm CPUs aren’t going to be canceled, this is troubling news for Intel.
While AMD is moving onto 7nm CPUs, Intel is having a lot of issues with their 10nm CPUs. This gives AMD a big lead over Intel in the portable gaming market. Thanks to its 7nm architecture, its very power efficient when compared to current CPUs making it the perfect CPU for a small laptop.
