AMD Zen 2 7nm Latest Leaks (Release Date, Specs, Price, Benchmarks)

According to the latest rumors, AMD’s next-gen 7nm CPUs are going to be able to blow away the competition. The latest rumors claim that Zen 2 is easily going to be able to outperform Intel CPUs in both the high-end and low-end market.       

AMD Zen 2 Specs List 

Thanks to credible sources around the internet, we have gotten our hands on a specs list for AMD’s next-gen 7nm CPUs. As you can see in the list below, the cheapest Zen 2 CPU has 6 cores and 12 threads which is amazing news for gamers as it means that the industry is finally going to move past the traditional quad-core CPUs.

Thanks to the specs list we know that Zen 2 is going to feature high boost clocks which means that Zen 2 CPUs are going to feature powerful single-core performance. Most games depend on single-core performance which is why AMD Ryzen usually perform worse than Intel CPUs in gaming benchmarks. For only $229 you’ll be able to get the Ryzen 5 3600X, a CPU that features 8 cores, 16 threads, and a boost clock of 4.8 GHz. For comparison, the Intel Core I5-8600K features 6 Cores, 6 threads, a boost clock of 4.30 GHz, and it costs $275. 

Zen 2 Official Benchmarks

This news kind of went under the radar but at CES AMD actually relased benchmark scores for AMD Zen 2. According to AMD, an 8 core/16 threads variant of Zen 2 was able to outperform the $500 Core I9-9900k. The Zen 2 CPU scored 2,057 on Cinebench R15 while the Core I9-9900k scored 2,040. Keep in mind that AMD hasn’t finalized Zen 2’s clock speed yet, therefore, we should expect to get better performance from the CPU when it is released. 

AMD Zen 2 Rumored Release date

According to a new report from a somewhat credible source, AMD is going to launch Ryzen 3000, X570 and Navi on July 7th. AMD Supposedly chose the 7/7 release date because they are going to release 7nm CPUs and GPUs on that day. AMD did the same thing with the Radeon VII as it was a 7nm GPU that came out on February 7th. This rumor isn’t the first time that we have gotten a summer release date for Zen 2. Thanks to past rumors, we already knew that Zen 2 and Navi are going to be released around the summer time but, past rumors weren’t very credible.
