Most video games sell better on the Nintendo Switch then other gaming platforms

The Nintendo Switch was very successful in 2017, in fact the Nintendo Switch was one of the most successful video game consoles in 2017 and arguably of all time. We have heard that many indie games sell far better on the Nintendo Switch then the Xbox One, PS 4, and PC. Many gamers believe that this happens because the Nintendo Switch doesn’t have a lot of games and almost all Nintendo Switch games are indie games on the Nintendo Switch. It seems like most developers believe that their games sold better on the Nintendo Switch then other platforms.

According to GDC’s pools, most devs said that their game’s sell better on the Nintendo Switch then other platforms. In the pools, 33% of the developers said their game is Switch exclusive or other issues, 28% of the developers said their game has been doing much better than normal on the Nintendo Switch, 23% of the developers said their game is doing normal on the Nintendo Switch, and 16% of the developers said their game has been selling fewer copies than average on the Nintendo Switch,

The Nintendo Switch sold 10 million units in only 9 months exceeding Nintendo’s expectations by millions of units. Nintendo expected the Nintendo Switch to sell only 8 million copies from  April 2017 until March 2018. 10 million units sold is a very good number considering that the Xbox One sold only 7 million units in 10.5 months and the Xbox 360 sold 5.9 million units in 10.5 months. The Nintendo Switch also became the fastest selling console of all time in the USA. The Nintendo Switch reached another achievement too. The Nintendo Switch won product of the year in 2017 and the console of the year. When the Nintendo Switch launched it didn’t have a lot of games on it but over time Nintendo and other companies added many games to Nintendo Switch’s lineup. Unfortunately, the Nintendo Switch doesn’t have as many third party games as the Xbox One and PS 4 but it is getting better. Even Rockstar released a game for the Nintendo Switch.
