Is there a Chance for the Sony PS 5 to Have Enough Power to Run Real Time Ray Tracing?
Can the PS 5 become the first console that has Real-Time Ray Tracing?

Nvidia has just recently released their RTX series GPUs , and for the first time ever, PC gamers are able to play their games with real-time Ray Tracing. Nvidia RTX GPUs (at least the higher end models) are the first consumer gaming GPUs that can run games with real-time Ray Tracing enabled. Although Ray Tracing is very taxing gamers are still to do it from $599.99. A lot of rumors have been going around about PS 5’s specs, but you might be wondering if there is a chance for PS 5 to be somehow able to run games with Ray Tracing.
Is the PS 5 Going to Get Ray Tracing?
The Sony PlayStation 5 is going to feature a 7nm GPU made by AMD called Navi. The 14nm Vega 10 GPU features 4,096 Stream Processors but thanks to the smaller 7nm GPU, Navi could feature 1.6x more logic into the same amount of space. According to rumors the Sony PlayStation 5 is going to target $500 PCs whenever it comes out (sometime around 2020.) Take in mind that by $500 PCs most of the times it means that the PS 5 is going to perform like a $500 PC not that it’s going to have specs similair to a $500 PC. So as far as we know right now, the PS 5 is likely not going to feature Ray Tracing. The PS 5 is probably going to come out sometime around 2020. The lowest price to get Ray Tracing you will have to buy the RTX 2070 and shell out $599 according to the latest rumors.
The PS 5 is probably not going to get Ray Tracing. Ray Tracing is a very taxing feature, even the RTX 2080 can barely do it. It will take a lot of power to run ray tracing in real time. Gamers will have to pay a lot of money if they want Ray Tracing on the PS 5.
