Nvidia RTX to Cost $100-$200 more than MSRP Other PC Components to cost 10% More (AMD Ryzen, Intel, SSD, RAM) Donald Trump China Tariffs
President Trump’s Tarrifs on China to Increase PC Component Prices
Nvidia has already announced their next-gen GPUs Nvidia RTX. RTX is definitely very powerful as it can run triple-A games at 1080p 60 FPS with real-time Ray Tracing and it is going to make 1440p 60 FPS possible on a budget. 4K 60 FPS is going to be possible according to benchmarks with the Nvidia RTX 2080, and that is very good news as no one has been able to play triple-A games at ultra, 40, 60 FPS with an $800 GPU. $800 is a lot of money, but unfortunatly the prices are likely to rise by $100 to $200 thanks to Donald Trump’s tariffs on China.
RTX 2080 and Other PC Component Prices to Increase
Because of Donald Trump’s Traffic on China, PC component prices are going to increase. Wccftech wrote, “There is a 10% tariff impacting $200B of goods that is scheduled to take effect on 10/1/2018. Every Monday there is an update on whether there is any progress made by US and China in the negotiations. If the tariff does take effect on 10/1, then […] would try to move assembly and testing over to Taiwan in order to avoid the tariff but most likely there would have to push back shipment lead times or else raise prices while they get it all sorted out – Red feathered bird.”
Usually, prices go down, but now, thanks to the Tariffs prices are actually going to increase. As stated by Wccftech, the Nvidia RTX GPUs are going to cost $100 to $200 more than their original MSRP. This is terrible news for both consumers and Nvidia as we will have to pay more so sales will go down and Nvidia will have to move their operations to another country so the prices don’t rise. Overall PC prices are going to rise so if you want to buy an SSD or RAM or a Nvidia RTX GPU you’d better buy it before October.
