Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most anticipated games of 2018. Rockstar has been making gamers go crazy by releasing new images and trailers for Red Dead Redemption 2. Gamers have been excited to experience the US as a Cowboy. Rockstar has released a lot of info about the single-play mode, but they haven’t said anything about the online mode other than that it will exist.
Red Dead Redemption 2 to Feature Microtransactions
GTA Online is the most popular feature of GTA right now bringing thousands and thousands of players every day back to the game, even though the game came out years ago gamers are still playing the online mode thanks to Rockstar’s frequent updates that bring cars, clothes, and new business to the game. In a investors call Take-Two Interactive’s CEO Strauss Zelnick said that all of their future games are going to feature an online mode and probably microtransactions. If you didn’t know Take-Two is Rockstar’s publisher so that means Rockstar games are going to feature microtransactions. Zelnick said, ” We’ve said that we aim to have recurrent consumer spending opportunities for every title that we put out at this company. It may not always be an online model, it probably won’t always be a virtual currency model, but there will be some ability to engage in an ongoing basis with our titles after release across the board.”
Will Red Dead Redemption 2 Online be Like GTA Online?
GTA online has been a massive success for Rockstar, so it makes total sense for them to implement something similair in Red Dead Redemption 2. Rockstar could easily add a multiplayer mode to Red Dead 2 that keeps bringing players back and in turn generating a lot of money thanks to microtransactions. Imagine if you could go to a lobby of 20 people on Red Dead 2, and then you use your horse to get to town. Like GTA Online, the main city is chaotic, people killing each other and shooting at civilians getting chased by the authorities.
