AMD is Rumored to Release Two AMD Navi GPU Series

AMD is rumored to release the worlds first 7nm GPU series very soon. Even though Nvidia is still stuck on a 12nm architecture, AMD is already going to move on to 7nm. Nvidia RTX hasn’t been doing very well and when AMD releases Navi next year, they will have a big lead over Nvidia in the GPU market. Thanks to Navi’s 7nm size, it will have a big lead over current GPUs in the portable gaming market. Thanks to its 7nm architecture, it will use less power but get more performance in return.

AMD Navi 12 and Navi 20 Release Date Leaked

According to Wccftech, AMD is going to release 2 Navi GPU series. At first, AMD will most likely release Navi 12 in 1H 2019. Wccftech says Navi 10 has either been scrapped or it will be released after Navi 12 in late 2019 or 2020. Apparently, the low-end Navi cards are going to match Vega in terms of performance. Sometime in 2020-2021, we are going to see the high-end Navi cards, Navi 20. Wccftech was also informed that Navi 12 will feature 40 CUs. If the CU and stream processor ratio is the same as GCN, Navi 12 is going to feature 2560 stream processors

AMD to Announce Navi at CES 2019

AMD President and CEO Dr. Lisa Su will hold a keynote at upcoming CES 2019 on Wednesday, January 9 at 9:00 AM in the Venetian Palazzo Ballroom in which she will announce AMD Navi.

Gary Shapiro said, “In 2019, AMD will catapult computing, gaming, and visualization technologies forward with the world’s first 7nm high-performance CPUs and GPUs, providing the power required to reach technology’s next horizon. During her CES keynote, Dr. Su and guests will provide a view into the diverse applications for new computing technologies ranging from solving some of the world’s toughest challenges to the future of gaming, entertainment and virtual reality with the potential to redefine modern life.”
