2019 is likely going to be a good year for AMD. AMD is going to release the worlds first 7nm CPU and GPU next year. Intel is struggling with 10nm CPUs but, AMD is most likely going to release 7nm CPUs next year. As for AMD Navi, it will come out in the same year and be the worlds first 7nm GPU. This will give them a big lead over Intel and Nvidia in the portable gaming market. Things don’t look too good for Nvidia as they are still stuck on 12nm.

AMD to Release 7nm GPUs Next Year

AMD themselves have said that they are going to release AMD Navi in 2019. 

Gary Shapiro said, “In 2019, AMD will catapult computing, gaming, and visualization technologies forward with the world’s first 7nm high-performance CPUs and GPUs, providing the power required to reach technology’s next horizon. During her CES keynote, Dr. Su and guests will provide a view into the diverse applications for new computing technologies ranging from solving some of the world’s toughest challenges to the future of gaming, entertainment and virtual reality with the potential to redefine modern life.”

AMD’s CEO Dr. Lisa Su is going to deliver a keynote at CES 2019 on Wednesday, January 9 at 9:00 AM in the Venetian Palazzo Ballroom. 

Nvidia RTX’s Performance is Very Disappointing 

Nvidia RTX hasn’t been doing very well because of its lackluster performance when compared to last-gen GPUs. The Nvidia RTX 2080 barely outperforms a GTX 1080TI while you can find a GTX 1080 Ti for as low as $600. The lower-end RTX cards are disappointing as well. The RTX 2070 barely outperforms the GTX 1080 and it costs a lot more just like the GTX 1080TI and the RTX 2080. RTX GPUs should perform around 30% better than last-gen GPUs at the same price but that’s not the case with RTX which is why it’s so disappointing for PC gamers.
