According to the latest leaks and reports from different websites like wccftech.com and PCGamesN and others, rumors and information are saying now that the GeForce GTX 1180 is powered by a 104 class GPU, codenamed GT104. The GPU measures around ~400mm², features 3584 CUDA cores, a 256-bit GDDR6 memory interface and 8 to 16 gigabytes of 16Gbps GDDR6 memory. GTX 1180 graphics card is expected to have a core clock of around ~1.6GHz and a boost clock of around ~1.8GHz. The TDP is expected to be somewhere between 170-200W. SK Hynix confirmed with Gamers Nexus that its GDDR6 memory will be ready for mass production in three months for use in several upcoming Nvidia products. If true, this would put the rumored GeForce 11 series launch right around July – but more likely later in 2018. According to Wccftech, GDDR6 chips could come in denser 2GB capacities, so we could well see graphics cards with up to 16GB of video RAM this year. Previously, the greatest amount of video memory we saw on a single card was 12GB with the Nvidia Titan Xp.

SK Hynix told Gamers Nexus that mass production of its GDDR6 memory (operating at speeds of at least 16Gbps) will take place within the next three months, which puts us on target for June/July. NVIDIA’s next generation consumer GPUs are expected to use GDDR6, so we’re probably looking at a July announcement at the earlier for the new GPU family, and perhaps an official launch the following month.
